Sir Thomas Wharton Academy were delighted to host the launch event for 'With Me In Mind'
Sir Thomas Wharton Academy were delighted to host the launch event for 'With Me In Mind' today and welcomed colleagues across health, education and the local authority. We were especially proud that two of our own students, Thomas Frith and Alex Winter, helped with the launch as Young Advisors of Doncaster.
With Me In Mind represents a National Trailblazing initiative to support mental health in schools in successful pilot areas. Rotherham and Doncaster Councils submitted a successful bid and Sir Thomas Wharton Academy, along with Maltby Academy and Wath Academy are participating in this very exciting venture which will provide additional therapeutic resources.
The aim of this scheme is to try and reduce waiting lists for mental health support and improve student wellbeing. Also the Young Advisors have created a story book which will be shared with schools across Doncaster and Rotherham called 'Super Sam'.
STWA's Executive Principal, Rachel Nash spoke to those present about the positive impact With Me In Mind has had on the school, staff and students.
