Poppy Appeal 2017

£364 raised! - Message from the Appeal Team.

Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2017

Edlington, Warmsworth & Balby

On behalf of the Royal British Legion, the Edlington Appeal Team wish to express our deep thanks to all those owners who so kindly allowed a collecting box and poppy tray to be sited on their premises and to all those individuals who gave donations.

This year we wish to record our special thanks to pupils and staff of Sir Thomas Wharton Academy, in particular, students William, Ruby, Jamie-Leigh together with Cover Manager Vera Purdy who gave up their Saturday to man a static collection point in the Edlington branch of ASDA Supermarket, raising an impressive £364.65. Well done!

Thanks also to Gail Pace (ASDA Manager, Edlington) and her staff for making us welcome. We hope to be there again next year.

The photograph shows Don Astbury (Joint Poppy Appeals Organiser, Edlington), Vera Purdy (Cover Manager, Sir Thomas Wharton Academy) and Will Taylor (Vice-Principal, Sir Thomas Wharton Academy) together with three of the students.

Without all of you the Poppy Appeal in Edlington would not have been a success.

Remember, any money raised goes to help service personnel and their families so please give generously.

Again many, many thanks.
